Types of railing fixings
The mounting method determines the look and load-bearing capacity of the railing:
On point fixings
Glass is held by individual stainless-steel brackets (spiders). A light, "airy" look with an emphasis on transparency.
In a profile
Glass is clamped in a base aluminium profile along the bottom edge. Reliable, clean-looking and quick to install.
With a handrail
The glass panel is topped with a metal or wood handrail - extra comfort and a finished look.
Safety proven by glass
In self-supporting glass railings, glass is the only structural material, so its requirements are special:
- multi-layer laminated glass from 16 to 40 mm thick;
- at least two layers of tempered glass with a high-strength polymer film between them;
- in an accident, the structure fails only partially and stays stable until the element is replaced;
- fragments stay bonded to the elastic film - safe for anyone nearby;
- posts, fixings and glass are made to fit your project.
Taking your preferences into account, Rigel specialists will help you decide and recommend the best individual solution.
